Choosing Between Biometric, QR, and Staff-Managed Check-In

Check-in is one of the first experiences a member has every day. When it is slow or inconsistent, the gym feels disorganised before the workout even starts.

Biometric entry works well when the gym wants tighter control and a predictable access process. QR or phone-based check-in is often easier to launch and can work very well where speed and cost matter most.

Staff-managed check-in is still viable, but only when the process is disciplined. If the desk is regularly busy or multitasking, manual check-in becomes unreliable very quickly.

The right system depends on the gym’s flow, staff capacity, and appetite for control. The key is consistency: one process, one source of truth, and clear handling for expired memberships.
